Prom Dresses – Standing out from the crowd on prom night |
 |
|
You’ve been patiently waiting for your prom night for months. You’re very excited about this night. You keep telling yourself that this is the culminating event of your high school life. You’ve picked a dress that fits you perfectly, among the throngs of
prom dresses you and your friends have tried. Just when you thought that you’re going to have the night of your life, you stumble upon a painful reality – the girl at the next table is wearing the exact same prom dress as yours! Talk about ruining your ‘perfect’ night!
No need to fret because you can prevent this altercation from ever happening. If you don’t want to suffer from this mortifying instance, here are some ways that you can alter your prom dress so you won’t end up looking like someone else.
If you have a princess prom dress, try to make it look more unique by shortening the hemline to a tee length or calf height. This allows more room for walking and dancing with your boyfriend. Additionally, this assures you that you won’t have a prom dress doppelganger!
Put some pizzazz in your prom dress by adding on accessories such as bejewelled belts or cute boleros. Belts are great at accentuating your curves because it cinches you on the waist, making you look sexier. Cute boleros and jackets, on the other hand, spice up the design. They are also perfect for the cold weather, or for more conservative femmes.
Or you can be creative and be your own fashion designer. You can add in other designs such as appliqués, sequins, and beads – all of which are available at your neighbourhood textile shop. There are hundreds of styles to choose from – and each of them can make your look very unique.
If you have time, you can sew straps to a strapless bust, or remove the straps on your bodice and replace them with bejewelled straps which you can also purchase from a textile store.
With these tips, you don’t have to suffer from embarrassment by seeing somebody wearing the same dress as yours. All you need is some creativity and resourcefulness and you’ll stand out in the crowd with your unique, one-of-a-kind
prom dresses.
